MARAWA THE AMAZING – GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS HALL OF FAME
In 2022 Marawa the Amazing was inducted into the Guinness World Records - Hall of Fame!! Marawa holds 13 Guinness World Records including Most Hula Hoops Spun Simultaneously, with a total of 200 HOOPS!! As well as fastest 100m on high-heeled roller skates. Marawa inspired and coached The Majorettes to start breaking their own records, here they are detailed below.
MOST HULA HOOP ROTATIONS AROUND THE KNEES IN 30 SECONDS
In 2022 Majorette Lucy broke this world record with 120 rotations around the knees in 30 seconds.
LONGEST DURATION PERFORMING A FOUR HULA HOOP SPLIT
Majorette Maz was the first ever hula hooper to set the record for longest duration performing a 4 hula split for 2 minutes and 2 seconds.
MOST BURPEES ON ROLLER SKATES IN ONE MINUTE
Majorette Tinuke combined incredible fitness and impeccable skill and achieving 33 burpees on roller skates in 1 minute!! Could we even do that off skates? I’m not sure…
MOST HULA HOOPS SPUN SIMULTANEOUSLY AROUND THE NECK
In 2021 Majorette Lucy broke the record for most hoops spun around the neck, spinning 17 hoops!!
MOST SPINS ON E-SKATES IN ONE MINUTE
Tinuke Oyediran achieved a second Guinness World Record on GWR Day in 2021, completing 70 spins on E-skates in one minute. They are harder than they look trust us!
MOST HULA HOOPS SPUN SIMULTANEOUSLY WHILE ON STILTS
In 2022 Guinness World Records invite Majorette Maz to attempt the record for most hula hoops spun while on stilts. And did she rise to the challenge!! Pictured here spinning 25 hoops on 2 foot peg stilts, rivaling Big Ben himself.
LONGEST DURATION PERFORMING A FOUR HULA HOOP BOX SPLIT
Another 2020 lockdown Guinness World Record. The Majorettes do not rest! Lucy Benson broke the record for the longest duration performing a 4 hula hoop box split (an incredibly technical hoop trick) in 2020 and again since. Her record currently stands at 2 minutes and 2 seconds.
MOST HULA-HOOPS SPUN SIMULTANEOUSLY ON MULTI-BODY PARTS
Our incredible Berlin based Majorette Dunja has broken this record more times than we can count!! Her record currently stands at 70 hoops spun on multiple body parts.
MOST CARTWHEELS ON ROLLER SKATES IN ONE MINUTE
Star of Starlight Express and rollerskating goddess Tinuke Oyediran combined her love of gymnastics and skating for GWR day in 2021. She did 30 cartwheels on skates in one minute. We’re dizzy just thinking about it.
MOST HULA HOOPS SPUN SIMULTANEOUSLY AROUND THE WAIST (TEAM)
The Majorettes broke the record for most hula hoops spun simultaneously around the waist … not once, but TWICE!! First with a record of 264. Then breaking their own record and making it into the official Guinness World Records Book with an amazing 299 hoops!! Team work makes dream work.
MOST PASSES OF A HULA HOOP BY THE FEET IN ONE MINUTE (TEAM OF 8)
After weeks of training The Majorettes broke this record on an episode of CBBC’s Officially Amazing Goes Bunkers, achieving and total of 26 foot passes in one minute. A proud moment for our speedy team.
